Sim Racing Expo Charlotte 2026 Recap — Premier Sim Racing

Premier Sim Racing attended Sim Racing Expo Charlotte 2026 — here's our recap of the event, the rigs, and the community.

Our Take on Sim Racing Expo Charlotte 2026

Arriving in Charlotte for the Sim Racing Expo 2026 carried real anticipation. The morning fog masked the Uptown skyline, adding to the atmosphere. After a short walk from the hotel, I stepped into one of the most comprehensive showcases of high-performance sim racing hardware in North America.

I attended Days 2 and 3 — Saturday and Sunday — which offered two very different perspectives on the event.

Weekend Highlights

Saturday was packed. Every major direct drive wheelbase, sim racing pedal set, and performance motion system was on display — and available to test (after waiting in line).

The floor stayed busy until nearly closing at 6 PM, but the energy never slowed.

I had the opportunity to connect with respected names across the sim racing industry — including Oscar from OC Racing, Matt Malone, Brandon from Boundless Racing, Marc (CEO of Vero Motion), and Angela and Doug from iRacing. Conversations ranged from hardware tuning to the evolution of motion systems and the growing demand for fully integrated custom racing simulators.

By late afternoon, I was able to begin hands-on testing.

Sunday: Focused Testing & Hardware Impressions

Sunday provided the opportunity to properly evaluate the most talked-about sim racing components of 2026.

Vero Motion

An exceptional motion system. Controlled, refined, and remarkably immersive without feeling exaggerated. In my opinion, the standout motion simulator platforms at the expo.

Simucube 3

As expected, Simucube continues to set the benchmark in direct drive wheelbase performance. Strong torque delivery, clean feedback detail, and premium execution. We carry the full SC3 lineup — Sport 15Nm, Pro 25Nm, and Ultimate 35Nm.

Podium DD

The Podium DD offered distinct characteristics not found in other wheelbases. The feedback felt natural and composed. Road texture translated clearly, engine revs resonated through the steering column, and curbs carried realistic weight and detail. When evaluating fine-detail force feedback, this base ranked among the most authentic experiences at the show.

Simucube Active Pedal

My initial impression came from a poorly tuned setup elsewhere on the floor — and I wasn't impressed. However, once properly configured at the Simucube booth, the experience completely changed.

As an accelerator pedal, it felt incredibly natural and responsive. When tuned correctly, the realism is undeniable. In this case, the performance fully justified the attention surrounding it. See the Simucube Active Pedal Pro + Link Hub →

Fanatec Podium Pedals

Visually striking and larger than expected. Adjustable, substantial, and engineered with presence. While the tactile impression didn't create a breakthrough moment, the design and build quality are undeniably premium.

What Sim Racers Are Talking About in 2026

Several trends stood out across conversations and testing:

• Motion systems are rapidly becoming standard in high-end sim racing builds.
• Proper hardware tuning dramatically affects perceived performance.
• Structural rigidity and chassis engineering matter as much as component selection.
• Buyers are increasingly seeking fully integrated custom racing simulators — not just premium parts.

The industry is maturing, and expectations for realism, precision, and build quality continue to rise.
